Legend has it that somewhere in interior south Karnataka in 1979 AD the earth shook... and Yathiraj was born with drum sticks in hand...! Yathi, by his own admission, was born to play.
True to his nature, this software engineer loves to live life on opposites, listens to carnatic and heavy metal in the same breath, and is so eager to perform that he is always the first one to reach show and rehearsal venues. We will always trust you for directions mate!
Ignite him on his full blown kit at your own peril, for this colossus of a Drummer has quite a low threshold for a start but finds it difficult to stop! Ask anyone who has seen Aurko on stage...
He happened to play at the same venue where aurko was playing , stayed back for the performance and witnessed "THE BEST HIGH ENERGY PEROFMANCE EVER". Dreams of playing with the band starting popping up every night.
But it was destiny that in couple of days he got a call from the Band through a common friend and that is when he realized that he WAS BORN TO PLAY FOR AURKO.
That he found Aurko or vice-versa is still being debated, but his baptism into the band was by fire. In Aurko he has found the vent to his multitude of talents that were waiting to explode - singing, mimicry and so on...!
Life is one big celebration for Yathi. Contrary to his drumming, he doesn't like driving in the fast lane - his journey is always full of meaningful pauses and... You guessed it, truckloads of fun!
As he is still figuring out his Favourite genre of music he listens to Metallica, Guns n Roses, Bryan Adams, Iron Maiden, Yanni, Kenny G, Bob Marley, RD Burman, A R Rahman, Sivamani, Zakir Hussian & Kishore Kumar.
He gets his insprations from any music that touches his heart and brings a smile on his face.
He still loves collecting Musical instruments and learning to play on them. Currently he is spearheading the Band's Recording Studio Prject - A Practise pad that Aurko's dream for a long time and now with faith, hardwork and sheer passion it is soon going to be a reality.
