Aurko 7 passionate men taking on the odds as 14th August’2000 drew to a musical crescendo, and since then, there has been no looking back The impromptu maiden show at IISC,Bangalore; that brainwave of uniting all the talent… a music group... no, a band, NO...Just a single word AURKO epitomizing all the simplicity of the world, untouched, pure and fresh, whose arrival was as eagerly awaited and is as magical as that of sunrise. A Hindi Rock band blossoming in an ambience of western music was thought impossible, but they gave the IT city their own music - vibrant … energetic , groovy matching the pulse of this city, yet soulful: they embraced it… and them !
Hindi was the mode chosen by default as they wanted to connect to the masses - create new music and spread happiness ! 7 years, innumerable concerts - Those hectic days of auditioning fresh talent from the wilderness of obscurity, the joy of being recognized and loved in a city where they were Once strangers,... madness of composing Original tracks … recording… rejecting, The first concert review, first radio interview, firstcoverage on national television, love, appreciation and support of Well-wishers, friends and fans - the journey was as enchanting , inspiring as it was all pervading. Aurko is born and going strong. It started as a dream, and we are lucky to have been living upto it.
