Our Thoughts Behind the album - Nadiyaa
Puchhe Yeh Dil Se – The Ballad
How simple it is to take the one we love, for granted... and even simpler to unknowingly hurt the one we once promised never to hurt... trivial incidents create distances...
We all try to balance too many things to live up to commitments in today's jet set robotic world, and often end up being misunderstood, heartbroken or estranged from the very person whose happiness we have being working for so hard, so long!
Isn't it your story too?
Nadiyaa – the unstoppable spirit of life
The monsoons of India, heavy showers… a slice of life... full of zest. Using the flavors of 'Bengali Bhatiyali', Nadiyaa is metaphorical, flowing river - illustration of life itself, to tide you across these flowing waters, the 'Majhi' could be anyone, a rickshaw puller, an astronaut or even AURKO.
Life is beautiful and it goes on…
Laage Na Jiya Re
Sheer fun intermixed with a longing for the good old days of high school and college.
The 'Dil Ke Dhadkan' of the college is 'patao-ed' by who else but the 'bad boys' of the common room, amidst the fests, the rehearsals, the one-act plays, the night–outs of hectic preparations for the Annual Day Dhamaka...
The 'Aam ka Per', the rap on the DAFLI, a dash of Sufi, the flavour of the mustard fields of Punjab –the song of our soul… our good old college days
Kaho Na
A flood of memories, the longing for the cradle that once nested us, the walls that protected us, the hands that wiped our tears, the laughters that shared our joy... that is why we are back home wondering why did we ever go? Home is where the Heart is… hamara Aashiyana... Isn't it? Kaho Na ?
Raat Ke Kohre Mein
Time glides by ... Dusk Falls , Enter Sadness with Gloom following close behind.
Melancholy lingers. Cloying. Silent. Silently wailing… Alone. All alone.
A Glimmer. I look up. Frown. Hope, is that you? Night falls and silence screams from behind, a wink seems like an era... all that remains is a ticking clock and eyes bereft of sleep...
Time glides by...
Yaadein
This one is personal. A memory of things that could have been, but were lost in the quick sand of time and reality. It could happen to anyone. It has happened to us. The pain we felt when some of our own , who dreamt this dream with us, had to part. Leave us due to the realities that the world threw at them. This is for them.
Dholna
Welcome to Assam, land of Bihu and the time to shed inhibitions and sway to lilting music and swinging rhythm, the time to stop being single!
Roke Chahe Ye Zamana
This is the result of a spur of the moment for a few youngsters who wanted something to dance to. Young, crazy, wild... that was the objective. Like it? Get up and dance!
MUSIC VIDEOS
-----------------------------------------------
NADIYAA - Directed by Oni Sen, Illusion Films (Mumbai)
Choreography – Howard Rosemeyer (of 'Parineeta' fame); behind the lenses – Mrinal; and Team Illusion - Suparna, Rupesh, Hiten, Dibyendu.
Our heartfelt thanks to Dinesh Da and the entire production team of Illusions , Our co actors and Master Ayanaav for his brilliant expression in the closing
shot.
High energy action with lots of chill thrown in, what with continuous jets of water at 2am in the morning on 13th december... we survived! Hats off to Oni and Howard converting musicians into deft svelte feet... and of course Oni for the Midas touch!
Brilliantly shot across Kolkata and on Hooghly with breathtaking backgrounds of Howrah Bridge, the video mixes mundane with the extraordinary. The friendly rickshaw-walla and Aurko, who makes whose day... You decide!
PUCHHE YEH DIL SE – Directed by Sunil Raina, Thinking Pictures (Bangalore).
Special thanks to Mithun, Sekhar and the entire team at TP, Nakuul and Sampada for giving their very
best.
Can't forget that mist in Ooty and the one in our minds, what to keep and what not.
Watch out for the clever inserts of the band within the story, the tranquil green water disturbed by a ripple, present in b/w, past in color... outstanding footages... Sunil Raina, perfection... bliss!
Metlife
We Thank Metlife India for their overwhelming support in making these two music video’s Nadiyaa and Puchhe Ye Dil
se a reality …
'NADIYAA' is dedicated...
To our parents and families – for standing by us in joy and sorrow, in peace and strife and tolerating the madness that is part and parcel of being in Aurko!
